Packaged places
For this project, called packaged places we were told to create 2 cubes one of Kingston and one of your place of interest I choose GOA as my place of interest because I went there last year and I liked it especially being with my cousins and brothers also it was the only time our whole family got together and for the second cube we had to do it about Kingston area in the style of the artists Gilbert and George.
We started off by going around Kingston taking pictures for our primary research that we were doing. I was looking at the transport and shops in the area so I was taking pictures of the Bus stops, Train station, Bental centre, Rotunda and shops in the area which then when using them I could place them on a contact sheet to see the different I could not make a contact sheet for Goa because My mum could not find them but if I could have found them I would have scanned them into Photoshop to make a contact sheet when I had finished creating the contact sheets I had to make a simpler version by taking the most important pictures from my contact sheet and placing it onto a A4 with 6 of my chosen images then I wrote about it to show that the pictures are relevant to the work I am doing.
After I had done that too both of the research sheets I had Ideas in my head on how I was going to create the cube so I starting sketching the design and testing it to see if it would work by cutting the template out and putting it together unfortunately I failed my first and second go so I sat down for a moment and thought to myself on which way the cube would move when I was to put it together or if the user was to twist it around it would all connect so on my third try it all came together
The next step was the hardest as I had a slow computer, we had to download the template from the kc3d website then import our pictures onto it and by using the pen and path tool I was able to go around the different parts of the image then gradient map the image selected to change the overall colours by taking my initial ideas into action I was able to create an inspired Gilbert and George cube for My place of interest and Kingston area
Once I had all the cube templates I went to library to print the two cube templates off onto A4 paper so it would be ready for me to cut out and present on a A3 paper showing the template next to the cube that had been stuck together, After all that was done I went home and posted it onto my Blog on word press and the paper work handed in.
